Hotel El Sombrerito,also known as Casa Chicho, is an ideal place to enjoy the Traditional Canarian Gastronomy. It is also called Hotel - Restaurant El Sombrerito; there you will be able to taste the old recipes of the former Inn , previously called Casa María , founded in 1940 by Mrs. Maria Rodríguez. Nowadays Doña María's son, Chicho, runs this place with the help of his wife Ana Maria and his son Héctor.
Doña Maria began to cook for people who were working in the surroundings, and for others who were only visiting the area, as it was the case of Bishop Domingo Pérez Cáceres, that enjoyed Doña María's meals several times. Her son Chicho started helping his mother but today he is running the place together with his wife Ana Maria and his son Héctor.
It is important to emphasize, that the products that Casa Chicho offers are hand made elaborated products. They are made by Chicho's wife Ana Maria, who takes care of the animals. Every morning she milks the goats and makes the cheese. There are also several hens which lay full baskets of fresh eggs, perfect to be served for a nice full breakfast.
